December to February: the easiest months for outdoor plans
December, January and February offer the strongest balance of warmth and relatively few rainy days. Daytime averages stay at 28°C, so light clothing works throughout the day, while nights at 25°C remain warm rather than cool. December has 9 rain days and less sunshine than January or February, making it a good option with a slightly cloudier outlook. January improves on that, while February is the driest month and has the most sunshine of this period. Sea temperatures of 28°C make swimming appealing on temperature alone. The catch is that even these favoured months have rain, so leave some flexibility in outdoor plans.
March and April: warmer, with rain becoming harder to avoid
March still suits travellers who want warmth and sunshine, but it is a less reliable dry-weather choice than February. It keeps 6 hours of daily sunshine while rain days rise to 14, so bright weather and interruptions both belong in your plans. April is the hottest month, with daytime temperatures around 30°C and nights at 27°C. That leaves little relief from the warmth after dark, making a cool room especially useful. Rain also becomes more frequent, so April is not simply a hotter version of the dry season. Wear breathable clothing, take breaks from midday heat and keep rain protection handy.
May to November: frequent rain, then a gradual improvement
May starts the much wetter stretch, with June similarly rainy and both averaging 2 hours of sunshine daily. July and August reach 28 rain days, while August and September have just 1 hour of sunshine a day. September is the wettest month overall. This period suits travellers who can accept frequent rain and limited sunshine better than those planning long days outdoors. The warmth persists, but warm sea temperatures are not a promise of suitable swimming conditions. October remains rainy, so it is too early to count on dry-season weather. November marks a clearer improvement: rain days fall to 16 and sunshine rises to 4 hours daily. It is a reasonable compromise if you can tolerate more interruptions than in December.
