Resorts in Amalfi Coast

Each resort has its own page with a 12-month table.

Winter and spring: layers first, swimming later

December, January and February call for a jacket and flexible outdoor plans. December averages 13°C by day, while January and February sit at 12°C, with nights around 8°C. Rain is frequent enough that waterproofs matter more than beachwear. March edges up to 14°C, but its 14°C sea still makes swimming a chilly prospect. April reaches 16°C, comfortable for walking in layers rather than sitting out in light summer clothes. Both months average 11 rain days, so spring is not reliably dry. May is the clearer turning point: days reach 20°C, evenings are milder and rain becomes less frequent. Its 19°C sea remains cool, making it a better fit for outdoor exploring with an optional dip than a swimming-led trip.

Summer: the best chance of dry days and comfortable swimming

June offers a useful balance: daytime averages of 24°C, a 23°C sea and relatively little rain make it a strong choice for both walking and swimming. July is the driest month, with 3 rain days and 12 hours of sunshine, so shade and sun protection deserve a place in daily plans. August is hottest, averaging 28°C by day, and its 26°C sea is the warmest of the year. Evenings stay warm too, with August nights averaging 22°C. Choose June if midday heat is a concern; choose July or August if warm water and drier weather matter most. Keep more energetic outings for the cooler parts of the day.

Autumn: warm water lingers, but rain becomes the catch

September retains much of summer's warmth, with both daytime air and sea averaging 24°C. The trade-off is rain: 9 rain days make it less dependable for uninterrupted outdoor plans than June. October still reaches 21°C by day, while the sea holds at 22°C, so swimming remains a reasonable option if those temperatures suit you. Pack a layer for evenings and leave room to rearrange plans around wet weather. November marks a clearer shift away from beach conditions. Days average 16°C and it is the wettest month, with 14 rain days. It suits travellers content with cooler outings and weather-dependent plans, rather than those relying on sunshine.
