Bermuda weather by month

June, July and August are the best months to visit Bermuda for warm-weather holidays, but summer brings more frequent rain as well as warmer seas. June offers a useful balance, with daytime averages of 24°C, while August reaches 27°C and the sea averages 28°C. May suits travellers who prefer milder warmth; autumn keeps the sea comfortable for longer. Winter is better for time outdoors in light layers than for a holiday centred on swimming.

December to May: mild winter days, then a gradual warm-up

December remains mild at 21°C by day, but limited sunshine makes it less suited to a sunshine-led break. January, February and March bring cooler evenings, so pack a light jumper or jacket rather than relying on summer clothes alone. February and March average 19°C by day, with sea temperatures of 20°C that may feel cool for lingering swims. April offers a useful improvement: more sunshine and the lowest monthly rainfall, though the sea has yet to warm. May is the stronger choice for a milder beach holiday, with air and sea both averaging 22°C. April and May also have fewer rain days than summer, so warmth comes with a different trade-off as the season progresses.

June to August: the strongest summer weather, with a rain catch

June is a good starting point if you want warmth without the highest summer temperatures: days and sea both average 24°C, and rain days are less frequent than in July or August. July has the most sunshine, averaging 7 hours daily, making it a strong choice if sunshine is your priority. August is hottest, and its 28°C sea is the most appealing for travellers who dislike cool water. The catch is rain: August averages 17 rain days, so leave room to rearrange outdoor plans. Nights stay warm throughout summer, especially towards August, with little cooling after daytime temperatures. Pack light clothing and rain protection, and take shade breaks when the midday warmth feels too much.

September to November: warm seas outlast the longest sunshine

September still feels close to summer in temperature terms, with days averaging 26°C and the sea 27°C. It suits travellers who want warm swimming water and can accept less sunshine than in July. October keeps the sea inviting at 26°C, while evenings become milder, making it a reasonable compromise for swimming and time outdoors. However, it is the wettest month by rainfall amount, so do not treat the warmth as a promise of dry weather. November shifts towards a milder holiday: daytime temperatures average 22°C, but the sea retains warmth at 24°C. Bring a light layer for evenings and keep plans flexible as sunshine becomes more limited.
